To determine the optimal borescope for your inspection, consider the opening bore size, inspection depth, and inspection path. These factors help identify the appropriate diameter, length, and flexibility required for your application.
A micro-diameter rigid borescope uses a glass rod lens for image transmission, providing a bright, clear image, but it is more delicate. A micro-diameter semi-rigid borescope uses a fused bundle of optical fibers, which allows it to bend slightly under pressure, making it more flexible but with slightly lower image clarity.
The lifespan of a borescope depends on the type of inspections, frequency of use, and level of care. With proper training, maintenance, and storage when not in use, your borescope can deliver reliable performance for many years.
Many of our borescopes are in stock and ready to ship. For custom or made-to-order units, manufacturing typically takes 2 to 3 weeks.
Our borescopes are not calibrated for magnification, but generally provide an approximate magnification factor of 10x or lower, depending on the optical configuration and working distance.
Yes. GenScope offers a limited warranty on all borescopes. Each instrument is carefully inspected and tested prior to shipment to ensure it meets our quality and performance standards.
Our warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship but does not cover damage resulting from misuse, mishandling, or improper operation. Once the borescope is in use, any damage incurred during operation is the responsibility of the user.
GenScope, Inc. proudly serves a diverse range of industries, with a primary focus on aerospace, automotive, medical, and engineering applications.
GenScope manufactures borescopes with diameters as small as 0.5 mm.
Detailed product specifications are available for download on each product page.

Yes, we can produce custom lengths, diameters, and optical configurations to meet specific inspection requirements.
In most cases, if a borescope is damaged, it must be replaced rather than repaired. GenScope can perform minor repairs on our articulating 2-way model.
Each case is evaluated individually, please contact one of our Sales Representatives at sales@genscope.com for further assitance.
Note: Light sources, cameras, and monitors are non-returnable items.
